Orchestrated workplace learning (2004)
Bruno Clematide: Orchestrated workplace learning.
LLD, Copenhagen 25-27 November 2004.
This paper addresses challenges for orchestrated workplace learning – in practice and in theory. Orchestrated learning differs on the one hand from learning which is tightly connected with the carrying out of the daily work, on the other hand from institutionalized forms of learning mainly taking place at technical colleges, professional schools, etc.
The paper argues how new ways of orchestrated learning can contribute to development oriented learning, discusses formal and informal attributes of workplace learning in the search of synergies between formality and informality, and finally shows how the shaping of the organisational learning space influences the potentials of orchestrated workplace learning.
